Frank Zappa was a bandleader, songwriter, film director, and musician from Maryland. During his 30 year career he produced more than 60 albums and composed orchestras, jazz, and rock music. He remains an icon in the rock world and was named one of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time in Rolling Stone magazine. He died in 1993 at the age of 52.
