William S Burroughs was a short story writer, painter, and novelist from St. Louis, Missouri. He is acclaimed as one of the most culturally influential artists of the 20th century and is said to have affected everything from pop culture and literature in the early 1900′s. He wrote 18 novels and countless short stories through his career as well as made multiple film appearances. He died in 1997 at the age of 83.
