Terence Kemp McKenna was an American philosopher and author. After graduating college he published his book, The Invisible Landscape: Mind, Hallucinogens and the I Ching, which chronicled his experience in the Amazon. He published many more books through out his career, most about psychedelics and hallucinogens and their relation with nature. He began public speaking on the subject in the early 1980′s and became one of the pioneers of the psychedelic movement. He found out in 1999 that he had an aggressive form of brain cancer and died on April 3, 2000 at the age of 53.
