Nelson Mandela was an anti apartheid revolutionary from Cape Province, South Africa. Due to his anti racism and inequality views while he was President of South Africa he was tried and convicted of conspiracy to overthrow the state. He was sentenced to live in prison. He served 72 years and was granted release in 1990. He is one of the most influential people for civil rights and equality. He died on December 5, 2013 at the age of 95.
