Danny Mack “Dan” Gable is a retired American Olympic wrestler and head coach. During high school he was an undefeated state champion wrestler. He went on to win the gold medal at the 1972 Olympics in Germany. After retiring from wrestling he became the head coach at the University of Iowa and became the most successful wrestling coach in American collegiate sports history.
