Joan Crawford was an Oscar winning actress from the early 1900′s. She gained her fame by being a chorus girl on Broadway but quickly became frustrated by her small parts. Later on in her life she adopted children, who before her death she disinherited. One of her children wrote a tell all book about her mothers pattern of physical and emotional abuse. Crawford died on May 10, 1977 at the age of 72.
