Genghis Khan was the founder of the Mongol Empire as well as their Great Khan. He built his empire by uniting nomad tribes around north Asia. Once building his army up he began invading and conquering all over Asia, these became known as the Mongol Invasions. Along with taking over the land he massacred most of the civilian population in order to keep control. He died after defeating the Western Xia in 1227.
