Ella Fitzgerald was a world renowned jazz singer from Newport News, Virginia. She gained her fame due to her incredible vocal range. Over her 60 year long singing career she gained the nicknames “Queen of Jazz” and “First Lady of Song”. She died on June 15, 1996 at the age of 79.
